TXIH 2009 cont (Saturday)

I can't remember if this was Saturday night or Friday night, but either way, somewhere around midnight I convinced Donnie to bust out his handy dandy grill as I had a can of spam in my truck. :D Sliced it up, grilled them up, Donnie busted out the Cheeze Wizz and crackers, and we had a gourmet late night munch attack.
SPAM
Saturday morning, more proof that the wind would be an issue, when we found Donnie's brother trying to keep the tent from rolling down the hill, as Net had not secured it properly, much less put the tent poles in the right location...
Donnie and Net plot....and plan....
a) delegate duties b) change location c) stake it to the ground d) drink heavily.
The brown car port is the Palatial Palace of Pleasure set up by F.U.K. for the KDH3 afterparties. It was a blast.
Tattooed
The wind was so bad, that Nacheux's canopy was flipped over her tent and went rolling down the hill. My tent was doing push ups, and woke me up in the middle of the night when it flattened out due to the wind, and was laying on top of me...then would spring up, and I'm like WTF?!?!?! hahahahaha
IGUANAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (p.s. The Iguanas are coming to Reno, August 28 - 30th) as a pre-lube to Interamericas Hash and also to Burning Man event) see links for info.
Smut Mutt brought a hog leg to the campout and they buried it and slow cooked it all night on Friday, and had it ready for mid-morning goodness on Saturday. Damned tasty food my friend. All hail the Nuge!!!
All dogs sit pretty when food is involved. hahaha
There were all kinds of games going on while hashers continued to drink and get ready for the evenings run. Caveman would be laying trail on the ball buster run. He had been out all morning Friday, and was back out on trail laying more trail on Saturday morning...damn, this ball buster might be decent....?
Well, trail time came around, and off we went. Front of the pack with the other faster runners, as I just kept pace. About 2 miles into it, we came to the beer stop in the middle of nowhere. From there, the Eagles were told to go backwards on trail (wtf?) to pick up where the trail went....left...into the bryars (waist high brambles/bushes with razor sharp thorns that cut/scrape/skin your legs as you step in/out/through them). Well fuck it, we went into it. I was about the 4th person from the front, when all of a sudden the frb yells out "HOLY SHIT!!" and freezes...I'm like, wtf? Then he says, a huge fucking snake was slithering right past his feet in front of him.

Apparently he has a huge fear of snakes. At this point I'm pissed at the bullshit trail, the stupid shit we're having to run through...so I'm like, fuck it, I'll take lead, and start to mash forward....that's when I look to my left and see this "little guy" already climbing up the brambles, so I take the camera out and shoot a pic. At this point, I'm fed up with the crap we're ripping through, so I go right, and drop into the ravine, and start to run out.
After a few miles, as seen on my gps, I check up and out of the ravine, find a ranch, and make my way to the road (always keeping eye on where I am, and making a general left hand curve towards the campsite) I pop out here. I run to the hwy that we rode in on, and run back to the campsite. I'm pissed that I am missing the trail. Final distance 6 miles.
Then I come to find out that the guys that DID run the ball buster, only had 3.5 miles on their GPS. what the hell?! so I ran 6, cause I ran out, and made my own way. Lame.
Oh, Caveman, what the hell was that? hahahaha
On the other hand, I did rip my legs to shreds.
I posted this one, after I looked at it closer and realized there is some kind of man love going on behind me. I think that's Net and one of the El Paso Hashers wrestling on the stage.
Later, after much more beer, Net decided to take his first nap. I helped him to the ground, and made sure he was fed (crushed peanuts all over his face) and that he stayed hydrated (handed him more beer as often as possible)
After the post run circle fell apart....hashers from several kennels busted out and made their own circle...which went really well.
The band was brought in to drink for playing for us...again. Skunkweed.
More accusations and drinking.
After which I went over and had a shower. The organizers built a huge shower section, with water heater...so hot water was not a problem. Here was Donnie and I trying to figure out whether we should wake Net up from his 2nd nap of the day.
We did. And he didn't look to happy....but he got up and came over to the KDH3 compound for after hours shenanigans.

We stayed up pretty late on Saturday night, until the wind nearly picked up the car port and between 5 of us, we held it down, as it got very cold, and as Knave went about tearing down the music equipment and the lighting systems...then we all scattered to keep warm however possible. ;)

Arrival...ON ON to the weekend...(Friday)

Friday morning we got up fairly early, after lots of planning and posturing about how we were going to get out on time. 8am departure....yeah right....for the record, this is about as close to actual time that we have ever left....we were on the road by 8:45am. :D The ride north was fun, we got out of the Austin area fairly quickly, and then paralleled IH 35 north.

The weather was nice and sunny, but there was a heavy breeze going throughout the day.

No one ran out of gas, but we did manage to get separated at a small town somewhere near our destination. A bit of backtracking and everyone is reunited, as we roll into the camp site.

Knave was following in his truck with the trailer...and all of the makings of the KDH3 palatial palace of pleasure (said with a slight lisp). It would rock and be the defacto after party location for the weekend...complete with bumping music from DJ K-nave, lights and fog machine. It was located on a slight downhill slant, which didn't help NBN out when he was bouncing around drunk off his ass. He kept rolling down to the far end of the structure. Hilarious.

Knuckledraggers H3 M.C. has arrived, parked, and started to drink at this point.
My bike on the left, and Donnie's bike.

The campsite was very spacious, as it's a Mountain Bike ranch. Which means that the trails should be killer, right? There is so many single tracks that we should have a great trail on Saturday...or so I hoped.
People catching up, meeting up and drinking beer. The Ryder truck in the background is full of kegs of beer for the whole weekend.
This was the scene when we arrived, as the already arrived Kimchi's from Colorado were passing out the 40's and hooping it up by the time we arrived.
Net...trouble is coming. hahaha
Compound logistics. a) place tent in that general direction b) make sure Net doesn't get drunk before putting up tent. c) fix tent that Net put up while drunk d) find Donnie's brother who is buried in the tent that is rolling across the field due to the high winds, cause Net was drunk and put the poles in the wrong way and didn't stake the tent down. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Late evening music and shenanigans.

Texas Interhash 2009 - pre lube

Allright, it's been way to long...so here I am trying to catch up on the weekends as they float by with so much stuff planned. Can't complain, it's been loads of fun.

A month ago, I drove down to Texas to visit family and also attend the 2009 TXIH event north of Ft. Worth. The drive was pretty quick, as I got help from RC who was visiting in California and said she'd be into going to Texas and seeing friends too. We drove into Austin, Tx. from the bay area in about 2 days..driving straight through. Stopping briefly to sleep once and the second time we stopped at her brothers house in West Texas.

There was a party at Knave's house, as was traditionally done before, and we just got to catching up and drinking as we waited for all the other hashers to show up, on Thursday.

Got a phone call from Donnie saying his bike won't start...apparently, you need to start it more than once a month to keep the battery charged. hahahahaha after some direction (which Slut Slinger also got after he called and said his bike wouldn't start either) they got the bikes rolling and made it out.

It was a long night of drinking, bbq, talking large, and singing karaoke. priceless. It was also good to be out of the truck and not sitting anymore...or sleeping in the truck either.

Some photos from the trip and Thursday night....

Oil derics in New Mexico in the late evening.

Passing through portions off the hill country.

At Knave's house as the hashers from San Antonio arrive.
Guam's new Harley Davidson motorcycle, Fire Fighter edition.
F.U. Knave cooking it up.
Piling bikes wherever they will fit.
Two cromos.....in one place.....at the same time? unheard of! hahahaha My bike and my brothers bike.
Donnie, hearts BJ's. (Border Jumpers H3) :D
Some loser who loves L.A. Lakers showed up...sheesh, it's all we could do to keep the gheyness to a minimum.
The next morning, hungover, we piled the bikes out to the street for the obligatory group shot before starting the ride..which by all acounts is about 280 miles...but by Knuckledragger standards, it will be an all day affair. hahaha
Dude's cromo. Sick exhaust pipes.
Da man in black!
So one of the female hashers from San Antonio wanted her two wheeled vehicle in on the pics...Donnie obliged by putting man stink all over it.
The group shot...who is missing...oh yeah, Slut Slinger...cause he's not awake yet...and is usually late anyway. haha He caught up to us somewhere off IH-35
The ride north was decent, we came out onto the new toll ways that bypass Austin...a godsend for those that have ever dealt with Austin traffic (worst shit I've ever seen) problem was, that they didn't have manned booths, and no one had coins on them. so after we delayed one of the on-ramps onto the toll way, we got going. There were stops and gas stops, and trying to cruise along without losing everyone, made the hours tick by.

By midday, people were getting hungry, and we seemed to be so far away still. The campsite was at a Mtn bike ranch, almost at the Oklahoma border. It took us 7 hours to go 280 miles. hahahahahahaha

quick update...

..as I head out the door.

Heading down to Kernville, Ca. for the tri-hashathon weekend. Pub crawl tonight, Saturday: Mtn Biking, Trail running and Kayaking some class 3's....with...yep, you guessed it....lots of beer. haha

Got so much to catch up and photos galore, will get on it right when I get back on Monday. TXIH was a blast, so much fun....need to post those photos, got back to the bay area in no time flat....been working the mid-week and spending the weekends playing.

First race of the season this past weekend was phenomenal...had a great time with great friends and I've still got perma grin over it.

Battling with the videos to get them up as well.

Here's some quick photos from last weekend:
The kimchis welcoming the KDH3 and all others with lots of booze.
KDH3 lined up ready to ride...long ass 7 hour ride...hahaha as that is how we roll.
Property! Funniest thing, is that he was sharpied while awake, and dancing...but too drunk to know better or be able to tell they were writing on him.
Race practice on Saturday. Myself and Stan crossing the finish line...( me in front) :D
Race Inc. posers.
Photo courtesy of Dito @ gotbluemilk.com one of the finest track photographers around. Again, me in front of Stan on the track.
Race start in Open Twins.
The guys getting ready to go out on track. Probably my most favorite part of race weekend is being out there with my friends who do the same thing as me, with race fumes, engines revving to the max, lots of shit talking and loads of fun and harrowing experiences on the track.
You can just barely see Chris' rear wheel on the left of that photo. Then it's Stan, Conan, Micke and myself. With Go-Go in the back stretching on his tricked out KTM LC8 I believe. That dude is super fucking fast on a naked bike...but had some issues with suspension. I'm rooting for him at next round to kick some of the big bikes' asses.

Off to do laundry...how exciting, and then pack up the truck for the drive to Kernville. See some of you on Sunday night.
